N. Νυφούδης: The negligence of the government leads to the misleading of the consumer

Declaration of the responsible Sector Exports to the River, Nikos Νυφούδη, for the exception of the feta cheese from the rightful protection as a Product of protected Designation of Origin (PDO)…
“I wouldn’t use the term responsibility but the term negligence. For us, for generations to come, for Greece and its products. The lightness with which you are experiencing some government serious trade issues is unprecedented.
Unfortunately, the negligence of the government to support it as long as I had the feta and the kalamata olives, leads in essence to mislead the consumer.
Our quality and “precise” slice will have to compete with cheap substitutes in terms of the free market. That is unacceptable, given the importance of exports for the economic recovery of the country.
Unfortunately, this agreement was signed by the Greek side and will be a working document for the next. And this is the most critical. The bad example of Australia must not be repeated.
The only thing we can do anymore, it’s all of us – but the Greeks of the Diaspora – today, more than ever, to support the authentic Greek products and not cheap substitutes”.
