Mystery Surrounding the Death of Three Family Members in Greece Within 13 Days

in

A harrowing tragedy unfolded recently when three members of the same family passed away within a span of just 13 days. The domestic helper, who has been assisting the family since February, spoke to Mega and Angeliki Nikolouli on “Light in the Tunnel,” shedding light on the conditions under which the mother, daughter, and son unexpectedly left this world during Easter. The daughter of the family, Barbara Sideropoulou, aged 78, had hired the Bulgarian domestic helper to assist with household chores, cooking, and caring for both herself and her mother, Katerina. Vera, as she was affectionately called, suffered from heart issues and wore a pacemaker. However, what prompted her to seek help managing the household was an accident involving her foot. Her brother, Michalis Sideropoulos, frequently visited hospitals due to chronic health problems. The first death occurred with the matriarch, Aikaterini Sideropoulou, 98, who had shown a general decline in health. She was admitted to the ‘Red Cross’ hospital on April 11, 2025, and passed away four days later on Holy Tuesday due to septic shock. No autopsy has yet been performed. On the day their mother passed, Vera was also hospitalized after being found unconscious on the floor surrounded by vomit. She was transferred to the ‘Asklepieion’ hospital in Voula, where she ultimately succumbed on Easter Monday, April 21. Doctors noted significant organ failure that overwhelmed her already weakened heart. Michalis Sideropoulos, 75, who lived in Canada for years, became the third fatality, passing away at the ‘Ionian Clinic’ in Korydallos on April 28 after being transferred from the ‘Red Cross’ hospital due to a rapid deterioration in his health. The domestic helper continues to reside in the family home, washing the clothes of the deceased women and informing neighbors about the tragic events. The homicide investigation unit is examining the case and has postponed the burial of the remains until autopsies and lab tests are completed. The domestic helper claims she attempted to retrieve the coffins to bury them together but was unable to do so as she is not a relative.
