Mykonos: Two Men Detained for Monitoring Construction Inspection Teams

In Mykonos, two men aged 47 and 36 have been detained after being caught monitoring construction inspection teams. On Thursday afternoon (07.03.2025), authorities noticed the 47-year-old man tracking vehicles used by police and Ministry of Environment and Energy officers during routine inspections. Further investigation revealed he possessed photos and videos documenting the movements and locations of these inspections. Authorities subsequently arrested his 36-year-old accomplice, while a third 40-year-old suspect remains at large. The vehicle and mobile phone of the 47-year-old were seized, and charges have been filed against the three individuals for obstructing public service operations, data protection violations, and hindering justice. According to the police, ‘Inspections for compliance with both urban planning and environmental regulations will continue with unwavering intensity, with special emphasis on areas showing increased incidents of violations.’
