Greek police have arrested 10 people on the island of Mykonos, dismantling a drug trafficking network that distributed cocaine, so-called ‘pink cocaine,’ MDMA, ecstasy, and cannabis. Nine of those arrested are alleged members of the ring responsible for selling pink cocaine—a chemically altered, often adulterated form of cocaine—primarily to tourists. A tenth suspect, a 22-year-old man, was detained separately for personal possession of narcotics.
The Alleged Leadership Structure
According to Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) investigators, a 35-year-old man played a central role in the operation. He is accused of sourcing narcotics, arranging their transport to Mykonos, storing and repackaging them, and distributing them across the network. Authorities say he also actively sought out buyers, participated directly in sales, and managed part of the illicit proceeds.
Another 35-year-old man is described as his close associate. He allegedly handled security for the drugs, identified potential customers, supplied other members with substances, and oversaw portions of the revenue stream.
A Key Female Figure and the ‘Tourist Driver’
A 54-year-old woman reportedly served as the group’s financial manager—responsible for safeguarding cash from drug sales and shuttling part of the earnings from Mykonos to Athens.
A 34-year-old man, working as a licensed driver for passenger transport, allegedly exploited his daily interactions with visitors to scout for buyers. Police say he used his professional access to hotels, clubs, and beaches to identify and approach prospective clients—often foreign tourists unfamiliar with local law enforcement presence.
Support Roles and Wider Network
The remaining five suspects—aged 24, 28, 29, 32, and 34—are believed to have performed peripheral but essential tasks: locating buyers, assisting with transportation and distribution of drugs, and helping secure or move cash.
Drugs and Assets Seized
During coordinated raids, officers seized substantial quantities of controlled substances and related equipment, including:
- 359.5 grams of cocaine
- 155.2 grams of ‘pink cocaine’
- 58.3 grams of MDMA
- 277.8 grams of raw cannabis
- 113 ecstasy tablets
- 4 vaporizers for cannabis use
- 2 high-precision digital scales
- Multiple nylon packaging units
- One loaded pistol with magazine
- 7 passenger vehicles and one motorcycle
- 12 mobile phones
In addition, authorities discovered a safe containing €80,950, $9,477 USD, £640 GBP, and two gold sovereigns.
Estimated Illicit Revenue Exceeds €170,000
Based on the street value of the seized drugs and the cash recovered, EL.AS. estimates the group’s illegal profits exceeded €170,000. Four of the suspects had prior criminal records involving similar or related offenses.
