Greek police have dismantled a major drug trafficking network operating across Mykonos and Attica, arresting five individuals following a high-profile operation led by Greece’s elite anti-organized crime unit—often referred to in media as the ‘Greek FBI.’ The Hellenic Police (ELAS) released an official statement detailing the group’s activities and published dramatic video footage of the raids on suspects’ residences in Mykonos.

Armed Raids and Arrests

In the footage, heavily armed officers from ELAS’s Special Anti-Organized Crime Unit are seen entering homes, shouting “Down! Get down!” as they secure the premises. The arrests took place on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. Authorities seized narcotics and assets valued at over €700,000—including €94,575 in cash and $11,500—and charged all five with participation in a criminal organization involved in the trafficking and distribution of illicit substances.

Structure and Roles

The group operated with a clear hierarchy and division of labor since at least mid-April:

A 37-year-old man acted as the ringleader, coordinating the entire operation—including sourcing suppliers, securing storage locations, managing transport and distribution, overseeing part of the illegal proceeds, and equipping lower-level dealers.

A 39-year-old was responsible for storing and guarding narcotics destined for immediate sale, identifying buyers, and handling part of the cash from sales.

A 38-year-old served as the group’s deputy leader and direct collaborator of the ringleader, actively involved in storage, buyer recruitment, further distribution, and managing portions of the illicit income.

A 25-year-old handled customer acquisition, as well as storage, security, and distribution of drugs.

A 38-year-old woman was tasked with storing, guarding, and occasionally distributing narcotics—and monitoring the hiding places used by the group.

Seizures Across Multiple Locations

Searches conducted in private homes and so-called cavatzes—a local term for informal, often hidden, drug-dealing spots—in Mykonos, Piraeus, and Perama led to the seizure of:

  • 2.69 kg of cocaine
  • 705.65 g of pink cocaine (TUCI)
  • 754.4 g of MDMA
  • 1.4 kg of raw cannabis
