He was widely regarded as one of the most gifted keyboardists and vocalists of his generation, with a decades-long presence on Greece’s rock and blues scene.
From Blues Cargo to The Peppers

He also gained widespread recognition as a core member of The Peppers Beatles Tribute Band—a group instrumental in keeping the legacy of The Beatles alive in Greece through faithful, energetic performances.
A Tribute from The Peppers
In a heartfelt announcement, The Peppers wrote: “Giorgos, our beloved ‘Lagis’—thank you for everything. This band would never have existed without your love for The Beatles and your profound knowledge of their music. You taught us so much. Your talent, your extraordinary ear, and your passionate performances—both on keys and vocals—have left an irreplaceable void—not only in our small tribute band, but across Athens’ entire music scene, as today’s tributes from so many distinguished musicians and bands clearly show. Above all, thank you for your incredible humor and kindness. We bid farewell to our beloved Giorgos Lagogiannis in Ritsona on Thursday, July 16 at 1:30 PM.”
