Muscles: the actual cause of the simple headache

The essential cause of the plain of a headache, i.e. the headache tension-type’s…the contractions, and the possible fractures in 36 different types of muscles of the head neck and shoulder, which we use every day for the erect posture of the head, speech and facial expressions. They in turn send pain signals to the brain, which we perceive as a simple headache (headache tension-type). This, among other, stressed mr. Stathis Hard, general practitioner/ director K.Y. Nemea and President of the Hellenic society of Research and Development in Primary Health Care. The strain (mechanical or due to stress) of the muscles of the head, neck and shoulder, explained mr. Hard, creates sensitive points–nodes, which release prostaglandins. The prostaglandins, in turn, trigger nerve endings, which are located in the muscles, which, in turn, promote pain signals to the brain and are responsible for the appearance of this that the sufferer perceives as headache tension-type. 1-4TH of headache tension-type (just a headache) is the most prevalent type of headache, accounting for 80% of the total, is the main reason that people take analgesics (non-steroidal αντιφλεγμο-νώδη/NSAIDS)1. while the immediate start of treatment is considered to be important for the optimization of the relief of pain 2. The data show that half of those who suffer from headache, tension-type have been slow to take pain relievers , which take only when the pain becomes αφόρητος3″.Also, latest research shows that in order to have the best possible result in the treatment of pain, analgesics should be taken with the first symptoms and in the lowest but still effective dose.5Με other words, the suitable formulation should be acting both centrally and peripherally, has a quick action & effective treatment of headache tension-type, and is well tolerated .NSAIDS and especially ibuprofen in the dose of 400mg, pointed out mr. Hard significantly help in the effective treatment of a simple headache.Studies have shown that ibuprofen 400mg is very effective and provides relief to most people as it aims in prostaglandins, which is the source of the pain.Based on these studies, the Guidelines of the European society of Headache, the Greek society of Headache but many other companies recommend ibuprofen as a treatment of first επιλογής9-14. European directives advise the use of the combinations with caffeine or codeine only as a choice of second-line, why contribute to the headache of drug abuse more than the administration of simple analgesics. In his speech underlined that analgesics should be taken at the beginning of the crisis of headache while drawing attention to the dangers of the indiscriminate use of analgesics, and the excess of a ceiling on monthly consumption. Headache tension-type concluded mr. Tough guy , is the most common type of headache. Almost daily, it affects the quality and cost of life of the sufferer , to the extent that it has an impact on family ,social life and productivity. In Europe, the total annual cost of headache tension-type among adults aged 18-65 years is estimated to be approximately € 21 billion , and the average cost price per person € 303 a year.15 Bibliography:Fernández-de-las-Peñas C, et al.
