Municipality of Athens: Screenplays for municipal fees for vulnerable persons

The municipality of Athens is expected to carry out reliefs to vulnerable social citizens, as part of the municipal authority’s policy for their support, however, there will be a slight increase in the fees related to the occupation of public space. According to safe information, the municipal authority has decided to proceed to zero at municipal fees for four categories: For disabled persons over 80% For single-parent families For those entitled to support under ‘energy poverty’ For many children and three-year families The same information states that in the context of rationalisation, there will be small increases in fees for public space acquisition and advertising. As the municipality argues, this increase is rewarding because the amounts collected will be used to improve municipal services (cleanness, lighting, sidewalks, etc.). So these increases are expected to be: 10% of the fees for table seats, taking over shared space from shops, fuel tanks in a shared area. 15% advertising fees and tourist signs. The increases do not concern municipal fees for the citizens, which will remain stable and not the shop windows, but only the exposure of products to a public place. What they say from the Municipality of Athens, is that the primary objective is to finance the economy and repeat that they received large deficits and economic charges, such as high waste burial fees and the increase in the wage costs of return services.
