All night long the fire brigades were all night, after the great burst yesterday afternoon (18.09.2024) in its old refineries in the Holy Theodores. Since the fire three Motor Oil workers have been injured who were taken to hospital with burns to receive the first aid. The flames are out right now. So far, the causes of the fire have not been known, although information has been said that it broke out in an old section of the refinery that was being done. Within the next few days the findings of the fire department and the expert on how the flames began are expected. Due to the flammable materials inside Motor Oil, the residents of the areas around the Saints Theodoros from the moment the fire broke out were on foot. A message of 112 was sent yesterday to the residents of the area asking for removal from the area. Authorities proceeded to a curfew so as not to endanger more people and traffic arrangements were made on the old Athens – Corinth highway, from the height of the node of Saints Theodora to the height of the Kalamaki tolls in both traffic streams.
