Francesco Banya may have won 11 this year’s win in a MotoGP match in 2024, however Jorge Martin won this year’s title. And while we went to the last match in Barcelona, instead of Valencia because of the devastating flooding, in a charity match as described, and after yesterday’s sprint the difference of 24 points between Martin and Banya was reduced to 19, to overthrow the situation in favour of the Italian twice world champion had to happen much. That is to say, Banjaya should win and finish from 9th place and down Martin. Eventually, Banjaya won with factory Ducati, starting with pole position, but Martin with satellite Pramac Ducati finished in 3rd place. With 3 position Martin won his maiden title at MotoGP, finishing the league with +10 points ahead of Banyaya. Beyond that, Martin became the first rider to be crowned champion with a satellite motorcycle in the MotoGP era, after Banya’s mentor, Valentino Rossi who succeeded in the last 500 c.c. season. See this post on Instagram. A very good champion Martin, who also played a tactical game, but a lot of good luck in Banjaya, who if he didn’t have the fall in Malaysia’s sprint, we might have had a different outcome in the league. A date next year, in 2025, with very large suspense, waiting for the response of Honda and KTM to the pantocracy of Ducati.
