Mitsotakis: We are ready for a growth leap – Bourla: We will develop cutting-edge technologies in Greece

“Within 2022 we will cover the lost ground of the pandemic,” said the prime minister.

“Greece’s vaccination is much better than the US,” said the head of Pfizer.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a discussion with the head of Pfizer, Albert Bourlas, and the president of SEV, Dimitris Papalexopoulos, in the context of the Annual General Assembly of SEV.

The event was greeted by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou with a video message.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis estimated that within 2022 we will cover the lost ground of the pandemic. This should be done with a development that reduces inequalities.

Greece, as the Prime Minister stressed, faces three challenges:

  1. A policy with lower taxes that will not jeopardize the macroeconomic balance
  2. Structural changes, reforms. “We have never suspended reforms and now that the pandemic is over we will press the accelerator”
  3. The banking system today is in a much better position and we are now discussing how to finance the real economy

The country is now very well positioned for the growth leap. “To cure the big problem of the Greek economy, which is the development gap that separates us from the rest of Europe,” he said.
