Mitsotakis Visits Epirus Innovation Center: Making Learning Interactive with Tech

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Epirus Innovation Center in Ioannina on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, ahead of the New Democracy pre-conference. Accompanied by Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki, he toured robotics labs, a meteorological station, a 3D printer facility, and an augmented reality room—witnessing firsthand how students use these tools in educational workshops. Launched earlier that day, the center is one of 13 nationwide Innovation Centers funded by the Recovery Fund, all set for completion this year. These centers serve as modern educational hubs fostering 21st-century skills in creative, inclusive environments. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to make lessons more interactive and engaging, noting how such tools would have enriched his own school years. He expressed enthusiasm for the center’s role in inspiring both students and teachers across Epirus.
