Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the need for restraint and restarting negotiations following recent developments in the Middle East, particularly concerning the US strike against Iran. In a Facebook post dated Sunday (22.6.25), Mitsotakis stated that further escalation would only create more instability in an already heavily burdened region. He noted that this issue, along with other significant matters regarding international security architecture, will be discussed during the NATO Conference in The Hague and the European Council in Brussels next week. Europe must rise to the occasion for the benefit of international peace and prosperity. Additionally, Mitsotakis addressed domestic issues such as the OPEKEPE case, stressing its complexity and long-standing nature. The government aims to resolve structural problems within the administrative framework and prevent misuse of public funds.
