Mitsotakis: It is necessary to strengthen the anti-missile shield of Europe – to build bridges of cooperation with commitment to International Law

Before the t-a-tet with Mr. Mitsotakis, Mark Route also met with Foreign Minister George Gerapteritis. “We have examined what is happening in Ukraine, support must continue especially in the face of winter, our country stands firmly on the side of the defenders,” stressed Mr Mitsotakis, starting his statements. The Prime Minister then broadcast the message that it is “needed to strengthen Europe’s anti-missile shield”. “The anti-missile shield is timely than ever, to discuss how this necessity can be done,” the prime minister said. “We jointly recognised that in modern challenges we must build bridges of cooperation with partners. To proceed with faith in the principles of democracy, freedom, with the need to respect international law and international treaties, which is particularly relevant to the sensitive area of Western Balkans. We discussed the constructive role of Greece, recognised as a pillar of stability and security in the southeastern part of NATO,” said Mitsotakis. He also said that “I hope the ceasefire negotiations in southern Lebanon will work to close the front as soon as possible.” As the Prime Minister stressed, addressing the NATO SG, “we reaffirmed our commitment to the alliance. Building cooperation bridges with our partners with necessary commitment to International Law and International treaties.” And he concluded: “Unitedly we conquer more easily what we need and easier to ward off risks”. It is noted that Mark Route has visited Greece as Prime Minister of the Netherlands before. The meeting at Maximus will follow expanded talks, statements and the next meal.
