Mitsotakis in Parliament: Vaccination of teachers will not be mandatory

The Prime Minister, who is taking part in the discussion of the law of the Ministry of Education for the new school, said: “We were concerned about the possibility of mandatory vaccination of teachers, but in the current situation it would not be the appropriate solution”.

Then Mr. Mitsotakis said that there is a significant number who have not been vaccinated. “A percentage of 70% has been vaccinated,” he continued.

Continuing on the pandemic, the Prime Minister said that the fourth wave of the pandemic concerns first the unvaccinated, noting that they have a responsibility to their families, but also to the children to go and be vaccinated.

Describing the situation in Education, the Prime Minister said that it will be difficult to fill the positions of teachers in case they get sick en masse.

He noted that teachers who will not be vaccinated will have to take laboratory tests to be able to enter the classroom and teach.
