in

Tension between the police and protesters occurred outside the Kardia Power Plant in Ptolemaida shortly before the visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Small-scale incidents were reported when some of the demonstrators attempted to break through the police cordon. It is noted that Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Kozani today (03.04.25) where he presented the Fair Development Transition Program for Western Macedonia, which aims to create over 2,500 jobs. The police used flashbang grenades, tear gas, and noise deterrents to push the protesters back approximately 200 meters until calm was restored. Immediately afterward, protesters were allowed to return to a designated area. During these minor incidents, one police officer sustained minor injuries.
