Mina Arnaouti: Lawyer Claims Court Made Legal Error in Compensation Ruling

Mina Arnaouti is preparing to file an appeal against the court’s compensation ruling, nine years after the fatal car accident involving singer Pantelis Pantelidis. Her current lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, spoke on ANT1’s morning show ‘To Proino’, expressing optimism that his client will be vindicated and asserting that the court’s decision was legally flawed. Arnaouti had previously appeared on Live News in December 2025, visibly distraught over the awarded sum and vowing to take the case all the way to the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos). Following the Athens Single-Member Court of Appeals ruling, the insurance company must pay Arnaouti €39,066 (down from the initial €67,000 awarded at first instance) and Froso Kyriakou €9,000. Since Pantelidis was found judicially liable—and was intoxicated while driving—the insurer is expected to seek reimbursement from his family. Notably, the court assigned 50% shared liability to both women for entering Pantelidis’s vehicle despite knowing he was drunk. It also rejected the Pantelidis family’s claim that Kyriakou was driving during the fatal trip. Dimitrakopoulos stated: ‘The court erred legally by assigning 50% co-liability to Ms. Arnaouti and violating the principle of proportionality regarding compensation and moral damages. These issues will be reviewed and overturned by the Areios Pagos.’ The appellate decision details Arnaouti’s long recovery: multiple hospitalizations and 17 consecutive surgeries before she could walk again.
