Miltos Tentoglou Falls Out of Podium for First Time Since 2019

Miltos Tentoglou, the reigning world indoor long jump champion, failed to defend his title at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing. The Olympic silver medalist struggled to find his rhythm early in 2025 but delivered his best performance of the year during the final. With a jump of 8.14 meters, Tentoglou set a seasonal record and secured fifth place, concluding the indoor season on a positive note. This marks the first time since the 2019 Doha World Championships that Tentoglou has not made the podium in a major competition (Olympics, World, or European Championships). Previously, he achieved remarkable results, including victories at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2023 Glasgow World Indoor Championships.
