“I felt like garbage, embarrassed, I thought I didn’t want my life anymore,” says Mike Nikolatos. In an interview with the Espresso newspaper and Spyridoula Triantou, the renowned stylist opened up about the difficult times he endured. After closing his boutique, Nikolatos faced financial hardships following the Olympic Games. He mentions how people owed him money, leading to his first set of problems. Despite having supportive people around him, he chose not to talk about his struggles, fearing burdening others. This isolation led him into depression, leaving him without even basic necessities. With no prospects for starting anew, he contemplated giving up on life. Eventually, he managed to overcome his dark period and now feels loved, reconnecting with old friends through Facebook.
