Tragically, Mikayla Raines, a mother and popular YouTuber known for her dedication to animal welfare, ended her life at the age of 29 after enduring prolonged cyberbullying. Her husband, Ithan, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional post on Instagram. “False rumors were spread, and because she was such a deeply sensitive person, it affected her greatly,” he wrote. He added that despite years of therapy and medication, “nothing really seemed to help.” Raines had battled depression, borderline personality disorder, autism, and other health issues. She founded Save A Fox, a nonprofit organization with branches in Florida and Minnesota, which grew into the largest fox rescue operation in the U.S. However, she became a target of online harassment not only from strangers but also from within the animal rights community. According to Ithan, jealousy and resentment fueled much of this hostility. Despite these challenges, Raines remained devoted to animals, starting her volunteer work at just 15 years old. Her husband emphasized her selflessness, stating that she prioritized the needs of animals over her own, often neglecting sleep or personal care if an animal required attention. ‘She never let anything others deemed impossible stop her,’ Ithan said, concluding that Mikayla was ‘the most amazing and inspiring person I have ever known.’
