A new phase of conflict has emerged in the Middle East following the official announcement of Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei — successor to his father, Ali Khamenei. In its first major military response under the new leadership, Tehran launched a barrage of missiles toward Israel.
At least 32 people were injured in Bahrain after an Iranian drone strike; four remain in critical condition. Attacks also occurred in Kuwait and targeted a U.S. diplomatic facility near Baghdad International Airport.
In parallel, the Israeli Defense Forces announced strikes against what it described as ‘infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime’ — both in central Iran and in Beirut, Lebanon.
