Michael Quinellis: Stavento’s father died in Alexandroupoli at the age of 80

In mourning for his father’s death. He had written about him a few years ago when he published a picture of him. Hard hours pass Michael Quinelis, more widely known as Stavento, as his father left life at the age of 80. Dimitris Quinelis, died on Friday, November 15, 2024 and his funeral was held Sunday (17-11-2024) in Makri Alexandroupolis. Stavento’s father was happy to see his two sons succeed, although Michalis in music as a leading creator and performer, and Andreas besides military being successful in much more. His two children created families and gave him three grandchildren. Michael Quinelis had published a photo a few years ago in which he posed with his father and brother, commenting on the caption: “Father can be anyone… but to be a dad you have to be a real man!! Our rock, our support, our power, our Mitsar!! Happy birthday to all the fathers who are real dads!!!” See this post on Instagram. In 2004, Michael Quinelis created the band Stavento along with Vangelis Georgantzis. Their first record, “The sweetest drunk” was released in 2005 and in 2006 the second album “Riddle” was released. The band experienced greater success with the 2008 “Today I celebrate” which contained the success “Inside You”, a pop piece with vocals by Quinellis and Alexandra Koniac. In all these steps, Michael Quinelis always had his father next door. He supported him, encouraged him, and boasted of his son’s successes. Now the musician is asked to manage the pain of loss, in one of the hardest periods of his life.
