An intense physical altercation broke out at Miami Port’s customs area on Monday, June 22, 2026, shortly after passengers disembarked from the Carnival Cruise Line ship Carnival Conquest following a trip to the Bahamas. More than 10 passengers were involved in the large-scale fight while waiting in line for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processing.
Chaos Erupts Over a Dispute Between Two Women
According to reports and video footage circulating online, the incident began with a verbal and physical confrontation between two women. A woman wearing a black strapless dress reportedly ducked under a queue barrier and attacked another passenger — sparking an immediate escalation. A third woman intervened, and the situation rapidly deteriorated as numerous other men and women joined the fray.
Witnesses captured scenes of chaos inside the immigration and customs hall — including shoving, grabbing, and shouting — until CBP officers stepped in to break up the brawl. Local news outlet WSVN and social media users shared videos showing customs personnel physically separating participants.
No Arrests, But Cruise Line Bans All Involved
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no arrests were made. Authorities stated that none of the individuals involved filed formal complaints, and the underlying cause — reportedly linked to a dispute between two families — remains unclear.
While legal charges were avoided, Carnival Cruise Lines imposed its own consequences: a company spokesperson confirmed that all 16 individuals identified as participants were added to the cruise line’s permanent no-sail list. As a result, they are banned from future Carnival cruises.
In a statement, Carnival emphasized that the incident occurred in the customs zone — which falls under U.S. federal jurisdiction — and expressed appreciation for the swift response by CBP officers. The company reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward violent or disruptive behavior and affirmed its ongoing cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
