Metro Athens: The doors opened while the train was on the move – “Every day we make our cross” the workers denounce

In a serious for the operation of Athens, the STAY Workers’ Association proceeded, noting in an announcement that on Line 1 the doors of a train were automatically opened, and even running a route. The incident, as mentioned in the announcement – complaint, occurred on the morning of New Year’s Eve between the stations of Metro Ano Patissia and Perisos. CORVERSE As they note, this is the second serious incident within 3 days as on December 30, 2024 Line 1 train was pulling smoke at the Moscow station. Workers say that “the highly trained staff acted immediately when they realized the problem by catching the worst in both incidents” and note that: “Every day dawning on Line 1 workers make their cross not to be harmed during their shift”. At the same time, they have announced that trains are immediately withdrawn and controlled, expressing fears that because of their old age, they will likely have a problem again. Finally, they point out that company management and political leadership must immediately find a solution to the daily problems we face with obsolete rolling stock, the lack of staff and spare parts because safety precedes.
