Met Gala 2025: Men’s fashion in focus at the annual event entitled “Tailored for You”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York (The Met) announced the dress code for this year, the annual event that is the ultimate event of fashion. It is titled “Tailored for You” (Standed for You) and is a reference to the upcoming exhibition of MET’s Institute of Costumes that will focus on male fashion and especially on the style of black men through the centuries. Guests at this year’s Met Gala will have the opportunity to express their creativity and present impressive appearances with costumes and men’s ensembles that will stand out. At the same time the Institute of Costumes announced that there would be a “hosting committee” with famous guests, who would frame the gala hosts: Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and LeBron James. Of course, among them will give the “present” and the iron lady of fashion Anna Wintour. CORVERSE Bright names include athletes, Simone Billes, Angel Reese and Sha’Carri Richardson and directors, Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee and Regina King. Actors, Ayo Edebiri, Audra McDonald and Jeremy Pope as well as musicians, Doechii, Usher, Tyla, Janelle Monáe and André 3000 are also on the list along with writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, artists, Jordan Casteel, Rashid Johnson and Kara Walker, playwrights, Jeremy O. Harris and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and fashion personalities, Grace Wales Bonner, Edward Enninful, Dapper Dan and Olivier Rousting. The famous charity event for the Costume Institute, which last year exceeded the $26 million record amount, opens the spring fair. The theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, will last six months and is inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book, “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity”. Met Gala will take place on 5 May. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 May to 26 October, according to the AP.
