Melania Trump Denies Harvard Controversy Linked to Barron’s Rejection

A representative of Melania Trump has debunked rumors surrounding Donald Trump’s feud with Harvard, claiming it was not initiated due to the university rejecting their son, Barron, last spring. The denial came through a statement by Melania’s spokesperson, Nik Clemenst, who told The Palm Beach Post: ‘Barron did not apply, and any claim that he or anyone on his behalf applied is entirely false.’ Prior to this, there had been online speculation, particularly on X, suggesting that Trump’s measures against Harvard were fueled by jealousy over former President Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia, being a Harvard graduate. In September, Trump announced that Barron, who was accepted into several colleges, would ultimately attend New York University’s Stern School of Business. During an interview with Fox News in March, Trump described Barron as having ‘incredible interest in technology’ and noted that ‘Barron is a very smart guy.’ This week, the Trump administration requested approximately $100 million from federal services, escalating the president’s conflict with the nation’s oldest and wealthiest university. According to the New York Times, this move adds to recent cuts totaling $2.65 billion in university funding. The Trump administration accuses Harvard of resisting demands for ideological diversity in schools and for providing full behavior files of foreign students.
