The shocking revelations about a violent stabbing incident in Megara continue to stun locals. On Tuesday morning (July 1, 2025), around 09:00, a 37-year-old man allegedly attacked his mother, sister, and uncle inside their home in Peukenea, Megara, leaving them with severe injuries. According to medical staff at the Megara Health Center, the brutality of the attack was unprecedented.

All three victims were rushed to the local health facility before being transferred to hospitals in Athens—some in critical condition. The director of the Megara Health Center described the horrifying scene, stating, “We couldn’t believe our eyes. The wounds were extremely deep, as if from someone with intense violence in him. One woman had what looked like a mastectomy wound—it was barbaric.”

Medical personnel noted that the victims had wounds not only on their arms but also on the abdomen and chest, indicating they tried to defend themselves during the frenzied assault. The attacker reportedly has a history of mental illness and drug addiction. It was revealed he had been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic in the past and had previous arrests related to narcotics possession.

Family members expressed frustration over the lack of preventive action despite knowing about his mental instability. “He should have been institutionalized long ago,” said a cousin, visibly shaken. “They waited until he nearly killed them. If there were more people in the house, he would’ve killed them all.”

According to Live News sources, the suspect had prior convictions for drug-related offenses in 2020 and 2021 and had been imprisoned twice—in 2014 and 2016. Just last night, authorities had once again requested his institutionalization—but the tragic events unfolded before any action could be taken.
