Medvedev’s Ultimatum to Ukraine: Peace or Unconditional Surrender?

in

Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has issued an ultimatum to Ukraine. He warned that if Ukraine refuses peace negotiations, it will face unconditional surrender. “Today’s Ukraine has one last chance to preserve its statehood and gain an opportunity for peaceful development,” Medvedev stated. In response to a question from the Russian news agency TASS, he emphasized the necessity of trusting guarantees and international documents that will be prepared. Medvedev described the International Criminal Court as a ‘complete failure’ and ‘shame of The Hague.’ He also noted that there are currently no authorized individuals in Ukraine capable of signing a peace treaty. Furthermore, the emergence of a ‘coalition of the willing’ in Ukraine would be considered a capitulation to military threats with all consequences.
