Medicines: New increases are in effect – How many and which preparations are expensive

In force from today Monday (26.8.24) the hundreds , as announced by the Health Ministry. The increase is 35% for all medicines, while increases concern 580 preparations, including antibiotics and insulins. The review concerns 580 cheap preparations, the prices of which are increased so as not to withdraw from the Greek market. The list includes important broad consumption preparations such as antibiotics and insulins. A typical example is the increase in antibiotics Augmentin formulations, where the price increases from 5.94, to 7.48. Also, the Apotel paracetamol preparation will now make 5.61 euros, out of the 3.85 it did before. Moderately the increase is 35% for all medicines. The cost of the evaluations is estimated to be about EUR 30 million for patients in addition to their participation, while the cost for EEAY amounts to around EUR 60 million.
