Medal Day for Nasos Gavela and Greece at the 2024 Paralympic Games

The Greek sprinter – along with his driver, Giannis Nyfantopoulos – reached the final of 100m T11 in 2024, having so far the best times in the races that have been made. Greece is preparing to celebrate even more medals at the Paris Paralympic Games. Nasos Gavelas along with Giannis Nyfantopoulos will run in the 100m T11 final and the goal is gold. The racing action for Greek colors will begin at Satorou. At 10:30 o’clock Greece, Sotiris Galogaurus will participate in the 50m advance rifle qualification SH1 mixed (R6). This will be his third event at the Paris Paralympic Games. In La Defans Arena Alexander Lergos will compete. The Greek swimmer will fall to 50m free S5 at 10:38, while at 12:28 the Greek four will compete in the mixed 4X50m mixed 20 points. Judo starts for the Greek mission. Emmanuela Masourou will participate in the category -48k (J1) and her opponent in the quarter-finals will be Natalia Nikolacic (Ukraine). The 37 year old has conquered two bronzes Paralympic medals in her career, while Masouru debuts in the event. The second weightlifter of the Greek expedition is Pashalis Kouloumoglu and plays tomorrow in the category of 59k. His race begins at 14:35 and is hosted in the very impressive La Chapel Arena. At 20:08 it is the moment of Nassus Gavela. The 2021 Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo is invited to defend his title and with him in this race he will have as a guide Giannis Nyfantopoulos. He seeks to become the only Greek athlete, whether we are talking about Olympics or Paralympics, who claims a second gold medal in a race. During the final we should look a lot at the timer, since Gavela’s world record of 10.82 is likely to be threatened.
