Thus, as announced today (4/9/24) as of January 2024, the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Christos Stylianidis, had been instructed, to the port management bodies to observe the following: -Adequate lighting at the docking points of the ships – Supply of first aid equipment – Supply of rescue nests to passenger traffic piers – Placement of cameras in front of the docking ramps – Installation of railings to avoid falling passengers into the sea – Construction of pedestrian corridors for safe separation of pedestrian-vehicles – Signed parking spaces for disabled persons near loading areas – Lighted staircases on the platforms – Use of traffic lines for passenger flow regulation – Signing of possible risks for safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles – Removal of all obstacles from access corridors and pedestrians – Meeting of a committee with a view to correcting problems The trial of the case for the death of 36-year-old Antonis Karyotis was set for 20 January 2025 while on the occasion of the completion of a year since his death, he became a triage in his memory.
