The U.S. CDC confirmed that the cut slices of onion used by the restaurant chain were responsible for the death of an elderly man and mass poisoning with the bacteria E.coli in the U.S., while the 90 reached those who got sick. “Onions cut into slices are the possible cause of the outbreak,” reported the CDC, the country’s main federal health organization. These onions were supplied to the chain company that has taken over by subcontracting, Taylor Farms. This latter voluntarily proceeds to recall the product and McDonald’s also announced that she withdrew them from her stores and burgers. The number of people sick reached 90, 27 of whom had to be admitted to hospitals. There was a death recorded, elderly man in Colorado State. “All new cases appeared before” Taylor Farms and McDonald’s companies withdrew onions, clarified CDCs. In view of the actions of the two companies, the service now considers that ‘the risk to the public’ is now ‘very low’, according to its communication. McDonald’s announced this weekend that she received the results of laboratory tests proving that there was no presence of the E.coli bacterium in her beef minced meat. In total, infections were recorded in 13 states. E.coli bacterium generally causes stomach cramps, sudden onset of water diarrhea, often bleeding, vomiting and fever, but not very high, symptoms with a duration of three to four days. Most of those infected recover without treatment, but some may experience complications, even death.
