Maximos Mansion: Fox Spotted Strolling in the Courtyard

An unexpected visitor appeared at the Maximos Mansion early this morning (January 30, 2026): a fox reportedly ‘took a stroll’ in its courtyard. Security cameras captured the unusual scene — the fox leapt over the building’s high perimeter wall and wandered freely around the grounds, surprising security personnel. According to SKAI, before appearing at Maximos, the fox had passed through the Presidential Mansion and then headed toward the National Garden, where it briefly disappeared from view — only to be later spotted inside the Maximos garden. Such incidents are not isolated; several foxes have recently been sighted across central Athens, including in Pagkrati, Nea Smyrni, and Koropi. This particular fox showed no aggression and is likely still in the vicinity of the building.
