in

Thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets across Greece today (June 15, 2025), with dozens of demonstrations planned as part of the Global Action Day for Palestine. The rally at Syntagma Square will begin at 7:00 PM. With the central slogan “Freedom for Palestinians,” demonstrators will gather not only in Athens but also in urban centers and islands nationwide, marking the Global Action Day for Palestine. This comes amid tensions that have turned the Middle East into a “boiling cauldron.” So far, 40 calls for participation have been issued, with the list continuing to grow. In Athens, the march is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM, and under orders from ELAS (Hellenic Police), the Syntagma metro station will close, with trains passing without stopping. The initiative March to Gaza Greece has urged everyone to join protests nationwide, demanding solidarity for Palestine and pressuring the Greek government to cease cooperation with Israel. Demonstrations will gradually commence after 6:00 PM in major cities throughout Greece, including Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, Iraklio, and many others. Specific timings for each location are outlined in the official announcements.
