In an exclusive interview with ANT1’s ‘Weekenders’ on March 23, 2024, comedian and theater entrepreneur Markos Seferlis addressed negative criticisms he has faced. He emphasized that it is dangerous to discourage people from attending his performances and called for such practices to stop. “I am not misguided,” Seferlis stated. “People follow what I do. The ‘many say’ phrase heard on television does not concern me. I choose what I do because I own two of Greece’s largest theaters. Becoming a theatrical entrepreneur is something the industry hasn’t forgiven me for.” He further explained that all actors would love to perform the works they desire, but producers often do not support them. Seferlis also discussed his relationship with TV host Giorgos Liagas, clarifying that he has no personal issues with him. “I don’t have anything against anyone, including Giorgos Liagas. If I’m a topic on his show, it means I sell well and give him good numbers at that moment. He uses me, just as others do, to boost his ratings,” he commented. Seferlis concluded by saying he doesn’t see a reason to appear on Liagas’s show currently unless there’s something meaningful to discuss.
