Stock prices rose at the opening of Monday’s (29 June 2026) session on the Euronext Athens exchange, while European markets showed mixed performance. Investors are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East — particularly the fragile ceasefire — and adopting selective positioning both in Athens and across European exchanges.

Greek Market Gains Amid Bank-Led Rally

The Athens General Index climbed toward 2,470 points, gaining nearly 1%, with trading value reaching €35 million. The Large-Cap Index rose close to 1%, buoyed by strong gains among major banking stocks. In contrast, the Mid-Cap Index edged down 0.06%. Notably, the Banking Index surged around 1.5%.

Among large-cap stocks, Elvalhalcor, National Bank, Piraeus Bank, and Coca-Cola HBC posted the strongest gains. On the downside, Motor Oil, EYDAP, and HELPE recorded the largest losses. Overall, 59 stocks advanced, 39 declined, and 11 remained unchanged.

European Markets Stabilize, Tech Leads Gains

European equities showed signs of stabilization in early Monday trading. Technology stocks provided key support across the region. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was virtually flat, but tech shares posted the strongest gains — rising more than 1%. A similar trend emerged on the UK’s FTSE 100 in London.

The French CAC 40 in Paris traded marginally below Friday’s close, while Germany’s DAX held steady at a higher level.
