Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced that the meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take place next week. Speaking on Action24, Marinakis stated the summit will focus on critical bilateral issues. He added that the official date is expected to be jointly announced by both sides this week. Marinakis emphasized the need for stable government, reaffirming New Democracy’s view that single-party majority remains the safest option for governing Greece. He stressed that only a strong, unified administration can ensure policy continuity and effectiveness. While leaving open the possibility of political agreements if no clear electoral majority emerges, he identified PASOK as the sole viable partner for coalition talks—highlighting Greece’s urgent need to avoid prolonged political uncertainty. He also criticized Charilaos Trikoupis’ stance, calling its premature dismissal of cooperation scenarios unjustified.
