Maria Karystianou Case: Lawyer Denies Threats, Accuses Her of False Claims

in

The lawyer representing the public prosecutor involved in the Maria Karystianou case has categorically denied any threatening messages were conveyed to her or her son. Speaking on Open Now (20.06.2025), attorney Makis Velakis stated that his client never issued any threats against Karystianou. Instead, Velakis plans to file a complaint against her for making false allegations. The meeting between the prosecutor and Karystianou reportedly took place for an entirely different reason—to hand over a file assigned to a lawyer. Velakis emphasized that his client was merely present as an acquaintance of the lawyer involved, amidst disputes raised by Karystianou. Furthermore, referencing Joseph Goebbels, Velakis remarked, ‘The bigger the lie, and the more it is repeated, the more credible it becomes.’ Meanwhile, authorities have identified the man and woman accused of delivering the alleged threats via video evidence, and they are expected to testify at the organized crime prosecution office. Karystianou had previously claimed that linking the Mitsotakis family to accusations of ultimate betrayal could not go unpunished.
