In a new statement tonight, Maria Karystianou revisited her stance regarding the proposal initially made by Stefanos Kasselakis concerning the possibility that the deadly fire in Tempi was caused by silicone oils and transformers from Siemens. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Karystianou referenced Kasselakis’s earlier proposal of the day (01.05.2025), clarifying that after consultation with her legal team, it constitutes a valid basis for forming a Preliminary Investigation Committee against the mentioned political figures when enriched with relevant evidence. Always thankful and continuing to thank all those standing beside us in our fight for truth about the Tempi tragedy, Karystianou emphasized that her position remains firm: Europe should not focus on already resolved issues. Regarding Kasselakis’s proposal, she stated that upon receiving information post-publication, her legal team confirmed its potential as a starting point for the committee. Stefanos Kasselakis, meanwhile, called for the creation of a united front for Justice and Democracy, emphasizing collaboration with victims’ families to ensure justice for the 57 victims of the Tempi tragedy.
