Maria Karystianou Accuses Transport Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas of Disrespecting EU Parliament Process

The president of the ‘Tempi 2023’ association, Maria Karystianou, has criticized European Transport Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas for failing to address any questions posed during his appearance before the European Parliament. According to Karystianou, Tzitzikostas avoided answering critical inquiries regarding ongoing violations of EU transport safety regulations and the undermining of the rule of law concerning the Tempi disaster. The accusations highlight that despite detailed evidence presented by nearly all MEPs—excluding only two, Mrs. Bozemperg and Mrs. Latinopoulou—Tzitzikostas offered vague promises without taking responsibility. Karystianou emphasized the need for action from European institutions to investigate these scandals thoroughly and ensure adherence to safety standards and legal principles. She thanked several MEPs, including Mr. Arvanitis, Sandro Gozo (Renew), Maniatis, Franco, and Siegbert Frank Droese (ESN), for their pertinent questions and positions.
