A 46-year-old woman, arrested on Monday, 13 July, at London’s Gatwick Airport, has consented to extradition to Greece in connection with the 2010 Marfin Bank arson attack. Greek authorities had issued an arrest warrant for her as part of the ongoing investigation into the deadly fire, which killed three people during a labour protest outside the bank’s Athens headquarters.
She appeared earlier before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London and, according to SKAI news reporting, agreed to be extradited to Greece. At the time of her arrest, she was reportedly preparing to travel to Athens.
Following her consent, she is expected to arrive in Greece within the next 10 days and will remain in custody until then. A British judge confirmed that the Greek extradition request will be processed within that timeframe — unless delays arise from the Greek side.
The woman is believed to have lived in the UK for the past seven years, most recently in London. According to available information, she worked at Gatwick Airport and was also active in photography.
