A new Marc poll shows a modest improvement for New Democracy (ND) and slight gains for both SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance (ELAS) and PASOK–Movement for Change. In contrast, Maria Karystianou’s party, Hope for Democracy, has suffered a significant setback—losing over three percentage points in just one month.
ND Holds Lead, ELAS and PASOK Edge Up
According to the survey, published in To Vima’s Sunday edition, ND remains firmly in first place with 30.8% support—up slightly from 30.5% in June. ELAS, led by Alexis Tsipras, climbs marginally to 16.8% from 16.5%, while PASOK–Movement for Change rises to 11% from 10.5%.

Parties falling below the 3% parliamentary threshold include MeRA25 (3.1%), Victory (1.4%), SYRIZA (1.3%), Spartans (1.2%), and Democrats (1.1%). The New Left registers 0.3%. An additional 2.4% say they would vote for another party not listed.
Sharp Decline for Hope for Democracy
The most notable shift is the drop for Hope for Democracy—from 10.5% in June to 7.4%—a loss of 3.1 percentage points. The party now ranks fifth, slipping behind Greek Solution. Though it remains above the 3% threshold required for parliamentary representation, this marks its first major decline since its formation.
ND Still Seen as Likely Election Winner—But Not Necessarily Alone
The poll confirms ND’s strong lead in perceived electoral victory. Nearly two-thirds of respondents expect an ND win in the next general election. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also retains a commanding lead in assessments of suitability for premiership—earning more than double the support of his nearest rival.
Yet voters clearly distinguish between electoral victory and outright majority. Only 18.8% believe ND will secure a single-party government; 46.8% expect a win without majority—suggesting broad consensus that coalition talks are likely after the vote.
Public Skepticism on Effective Opposition
When asked which party offers the most substantive opposition, 38.9% of respondents chose “none in particular.” PASOK comes second at 14.5%, followed by Greek Solution (7.4%) and Freedom Cruise (7.3%). Even among ND voters, 16% name PASOK as the most effective opposition force—while 52.4% say “none.” Among PASOK supporters, the party itself receives 47% in response to the same question.
