A grim discovery was made at the Piraeus port. Coast Guard personnel located the body of a man in the sea near Gate E2. The corpse was retrieved by a Coast Guard patrol vessel and subsequently transferred to an EKAB (National Emergency Medical Service) ambulance.
The victim’s body was taken to the General State Hospital of Nikaia for the required forensic procedures.
An initial investigation into the incident is underway by the competent Coast Guard Authority, while the exact cause and circumstances remain under examination.
