A man became the victim of a brazen gang after withdrawing money from an ATM in Peuke. The syndicate, which had targeted him, managed to steal €30,000. The thieves punctured his car tire while he was withdrawing money from an ATM in Peuke and followed him until the vehicle stopped on the Attiki Odos highway. When the victim entered a tire repair shop to fix his car’s tire, which had been tampered with by the perpetrators, they seized the opportunity. While the man was paying for the repair, the criminals removed a bag containing €30,000 from inside his car and fled. This syndicate was recently apprehended by authorities. The operation of the group was dismantled by the Directorate for the Suppression and Investigation of Crimes in Northeast Attica, whose officers managed to locate the culprits in Athens and arrest three individuals. Following an investigation, several items were found in their possession and confiscated: 4 suitcases, €4,170, $37 USD, £10 GBP, 18,000 Chilean pesos, 1,000 Colombian pesos, glass-breaking tools, a folding knife and file, 3 suspicious passports, 2 helmets, clothing, 6 mobile phones, and a small quantity of cannabis. The arrested individuals were brought before the competent prosecutor, and the €30,000 was returned to the victim.
