Man Found Dead in Agia Paraskevi After Shooting – ‘When I Heard the Bang, I Went Out and Saw Someone Running into the Alley’

A man was found dead on Friday afternoon (04/07/2025) after a shooting incident on Eirinis Street in Agia Paraskevi. The victim, believed to be around 40 years old, sustained multiple gunshot wounds, with three bullets hitting him, two of which struck his chest. Five shell casings were found at the scene. According to witnesses, the suspect—who was seen wearing a mask—fled on foot immediately after the shooting, turning into a narrow alleyway.

An eyewitness who discovered the body reported hearing four to five gunshots before rushing outside, where he saw someone running away. He later spotted the injured man lying on the ground, moments before he passed away. ‘When I heard the bang, I went out from the apartment building and saw a man running and turning left into the alley,’ the witness told Newsit.gr. ‘I then saw someone on the floor—he was about to die. His phone started ringing, and I made the mistake of picking it up. I panicked and called the police because I didn’t want to get involved,’ he added.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect and reportedly recovered surveillance footage that may help identify the perpetrator. According to Live News sources, the suspect has not been previously linked to any major criminal records.
