Man Attempts to Assault Tourist After Emerging Naked From Sea in Hilia

A horrifying incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2025, when a 50-year-old tourist narrowly escaped an assault at Kakovatos Hilia beach. The woman was enjoying her sunbathing when a 38-year-old man emerged naked from the water and began running towards her. Witnesses reported seeing the man lunging at the tourist, who screamed in fear as she feared becoming a victim of sexual assault. Fortunately, the tourist managed to slip away from the attacker’s grasp due to the sunscreen on her body. Seizing the opportunity, she ran for safety. The perpetrator attempted to flee from eyewitnesses trying to apprehend him but was eventually arrested by the police shortly afterward. He is now charged with sexual harassment and unlawful violence.
