Makis Angelopoulos Unveils ‘Nikos Bambanikos’ Room at AEK’s SUNEL Arena

The meeting room of the Association of Former Basketball Players (SPAKA) at SUNEL Arena has been named ‘Nikos Bambanikos,’ officially inaugurated on the AEK grounds in Ano Liosia. During a special event held at SUNEL Arena, former players from AEK and other teams attended as Makis Angelopoulos presented the newly named ‘Nikos Bambanikos’ room to all attendees. With solemnity befitting the occasion, this marks the fourth naming ceremony at SUNEL Arena. The room honors Nikos Bambanikos, the former president of SPAKA and one of Greece’s oldest champions. The unveiling was performed by Makis Angelopoulos, administrative leader of AEK Betsson BC and founding member of SPAKA. The event featured many invited guests, including former athletes, AEK President Alexis Alexiou, Stamatios Papastamatis, Faidon Konstantoudakis, Christina Soukeri, Kyriakos Hinas, and representatives from various athletic associations. Also present were key figures from AEK Betsson BC, such as General Manager Kostas Kotzis and Operations & Ticketing Manager Panagiotis Mantzous. Event coordinator was George Nikolau, Director of Communications & Digital Media for AEK Betsson BC and founding member of SPAKA. This naming follows previous ceremonies honoring Phaidon Konstantoudakis, Stevan Jelovac, and SUNEL Arena itself.
