Maiden flight for the original japanese stealth fighter Mitsubishi, X-2

The maiden flight carried out on April 22, the X-2, …
original stealth fighter aircraft, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
The prototype aircraft (advanced technology demonstrator) took off from the airport of Nagoya, and conducted a series of tests on basic maneuvers, before landing at the air base Γκιφού. The pilot described the experience as “extremely stable,” adding that the control was exactly as in the simulations.
The X-2 is a prototype of a stealth aircraft – in particular, it is the first japanese manufacturing fighter with stealth technology – and is designed for very high flexibility. The original has fuselage, engines and other advanced systems and equipment that can be adapted for use in future fighters.

The company was developing the fuselage of the aircraft from 2009, in cooperation with other 220 japanese companies and the ATLA (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency) of Japan, incorporating a number of leading japanese technologies.
As stated in the report of Gizmag, the original purpose of the japanese government was the acquisition of the american F-22 Raptor, the export of which, however, was banned – so Japan began to develop its own fighter. The X-2 is a single-seat fighter, with a length of 14,2 meters and a wingspan of 9 meters. The maximum speed is 2.25 Mach (2.756 km/ hour) and the range of 2.900 miles. The technologies that integrates included control of “fly by light”, which replaces conventional cables with optical fibers.
