Magnitude 4.2 Earthquake Hits Gavdos – Epicenter at 9.1 km Depth

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Gavdos Island at 6:38 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2025. The epicenter of the seismic activity was located north of the coastal island. This 4.2-magnitude quake originated from a focal point situated five kilometers north-northeast of Gavdos. The focal depth of the seismic event was recorded at 9.1 kilometers. There are currently no reports of any material damage.
