Magnitude 3.9 Earthquake Hits Astypalaia

A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Astypalaia on Saturday afternoon (07.06.2025). According to the revised solution from the Geodynamic Institute, the quake’s epicenter was located 33 kilometers east-southeast of Astypalaia. The hypocentral depth was recorded at 115.2 kilometers. It was also felt in nearby areas. Earlier today, a significant 5.3-magnitude earthquake occurred near Mount Athos, followed by two aftershocks measuring 3.8 and 3.0 on the Richter scale.
